Retired senior military officer Donald Silundi Tshuma has died at the age of 71. Brigadier General (Rtd) Tshuma passed away on May 15, 2026, at his home in Nkulumane 12 suburb in Bulawayo.
ZNA confirms death
In a statement released on Monday, Commander Zimbabwe National Army Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi expressed sadness over the passing, describing it as a great loss and extending condolences to the family of the former senior army official
Liberation struggle veteran
Brigadier General Tshuma was also a liberation war veteran who operated under the Chimurenga name "Henry Silundi" during Zimbabwe's liberation struggle. He was among the senior military figures who continued to serve in the country's armed forces after independence.
Funeral arrangements pending
The Zimbabwe National Army said funeral and burial arrangements for the late retired brigadier general will be announced in due course.
